AU Feu de Bois - Amou

I had the opportunity to dine at Au Feu de Bois a number of times over a several week stay in Amou. The service was consistently quick, attentive, and friendly, and the food was wonderful and nicely presented, and often sourced from local farms a real authentic taste of Landes in a charming country setting! The Assiette Pays was especially nice, but I also recommend the roast duck and the pizzas were very nice. As a non French speaker, it was convenient that the staff were conversant in English and also Spanish, Portuguese, and sign language! A must visit near Amou, I cannot wait to return. Yo recomiendo esta restaurante por la comida muy deliciosa (y bonita), y ingredientes de las fincas locales un sabor local autentico. También, la gente son tan simpáticos, y hablan francés, inglés, español, portugués, y lenguaje de señas. Me gustaría regresar pronto.

We have been looking for a new local favourite and i 'm afraid to say, this isn 't it. The 'menu du jour ' is 12.50 euros, which is very reasonable and good value for what you get. The starter was a buffet, which contained beetroot, tomatoes, mackerel pieces and some charcuterie, however, it was all a bit bland and boring. Our main was leg of chicken on a bed of beans and carrots. the leg of chicken was far too dry and I 'm sure the vegetables came from a can. The dessert, banana cake was also very dry and did not have a lot of flavour. The staff however, were very kind and efficient and the portions were a very good size.

Recommended and rightly so.....the assiette was a pleasure, give it a go. Genuine local cuisine at a high standard and a very reasonable price.

Dîner en famille un Lundi soir de vacances. Nous avons commandé des pizzas après avoir pris un apéritif. Celles-ci étaient excellentes, chaudes et servies rapidement par la patronne et sa serveuse, le tout avec le sourire et un petit mot agréable !Niveau prix, notez qu'il faut ajouter 2,00€ au prix des pizzas si vous les mangez sur place et 0,30€ au prix des boissons/cocktails si servis en terrasse (bien que nous n'ayons pas explicitement demandé d'y être placés...).En moyenne, 20€/pers. boissons et cafés inclus.Seul tout petit bémol : un certain amateurisme de la serveuse...mais elle est toute jeune et il faut bien faire ses armes quelque part !En moyenne,

Attention, les prix affichés ne sont pas ceux sur la note!! 12€50 la pizza sur la carte , 15 € facturés!! 12€ pour la regina au lieu de 9€ sur la carte!! ABUSÉ!!!! Jamais vu ces prix et encore moins ce genre d'arnaque
