It had a lot of life with bright colors, flamingos, trees, and a pool! I love their beers, but I decided to go out of my comfort zone and get their POG seltzer. It was just like a POG juice and seltzer water mix. I wasn't too impressed, but it tasted just like POG, so wasn't disappointed either. The 714 Market was happening that day, but I only caught the end of it. Hopefully, I'll catch it next time!
Modern Times is a nice brewery with tons of open space seating with additional seating on the second floor patio and around the pool area. There are several places you can order from: the main bar, the side bar with a few beers on tap, or the bar next to the pool. They also have non alcoholic options and a coffee shop located in a craftsman home. Parking lot is fairly small relative to the guests in the brewery but residential street parking is available. For the beer, I tried their ice pilsner with lime salt per the bartender's recommendation and would give it a solid 4/5. I just wished it was served chilled. Their oat milk latte is a solid option for a caffeine pick me up. The surprising winner was the frozen orangeade. It was so refreshing in the sweltering 90+ degree weather. The kitchen is 100% plant based but don't let that steer you away. As a non vegan, I genuinely enjoyed some of the dishes I ordered. For shareables, I really enjoyed the asada fries and fried zucchini since the fries in both dishes were served hot and crispy. The asada braised seitan was very flavorful and the texture reminded me of meaty mushrooms. The smoky ranch dip with dill made the zucchini dish pop. The classic smash burger and muchwrap are both made with Impossible burger and were delicious I would highly recommend these for your mains. I loved the juicy fuegolote and the slight kick from the poblano butter. I personally wouldn't order the melon salad or the buffalo chicken sandwich as they were mediocre in taste but expensive in price. Overall, Modern Times has good atmosphere and nice decor with lots of open space with options for alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks.
Reallllyy nice colorful seating brewery. I tried so many types of beers, few of them are listed below in the image. They all are worth a try!! And then you can pick and choose your favorite. The staff is pretty welcoming and arranges flights as per the customer’s request/tastes.
Although our time here was short, we all had a great time. I had been to a couple Modern Times locations before, and I'm pretty familiar with their beer, so I was pretty excited to check this place out. We only stayed for one drink due to timing, but it definitely satisfied. Modern Times makes some of my favorite beers, and I highly recommend giving them a try if you haven't already. The atmosphere and vibes here were great, and the service was friendly.
Beer- the 4 stars are based on the beer, which most ppl already know that modern times has some good stuff. Food- warning about the food, it's not good. Think cafeteria vegan food. Food is even served on a plastic tray with individually wrapped cutlery. I was so excited about the peach cobbler and damn what a disappointment that was. I think they basically tossed a can of peaches under the crumbs of whatever cobbler might have existed earlier in the evening. Anyway, get drinks, enjoy the playful ambiance but stray from the food.
