City Diner - Anchorage

If I had filled this review in the first year, it would be a 4th but the place seemed to slip down constantly since then. the service is always great and the atmosphere will eat us 100% diner comfort. Unfortunately, it's not eating. our first rave over the place was their homemade chicken potcake. thick, rich and full of chickens and vegetables. the last two times it was as thin as suppe with a tiny fraction of the amount of **** and vegetables that it had with tasteless broth. we didn't even make it. everything else we have tried was, again, okay, but did not seem to have any political or uniqueness. it is as if the place was tired to press the envelope...read more

If they like swanson tw dinner, they will love this place. I personally don't like swanson TV dinner. After I had questioned the other people on my table, I found what became aware of their strongest meaning. consistency.

Something has changed. I used to really like this place. It had a great menu and nice staff. We would order out quit often from here too. Their prices were a little higher than other places but the food was good. Now, the menu is smaller and the staff seems less friendly. The prices haven't changed and they have priced me out of going here. As others have said, no more breakfast all day which I can't understand. That's a mainstay of diners is breakfast all day. How hard can it be to serve breakfast items at any time? Its been I while since I had been here and I thought I'd try it again. Well, I'm not going back. There are other dinners in town that are cheaper and have a better menu.

The staff was friendly, but the food we ordered sucked. We ordered steak and eggs, and we waited 25 minutes to receive our pitiful plates of overpriced food. My sickly mother was finally ready to attempt to eat a meal, and those darn chefs managed to ruin the little appetite she had. Thankfully we didn't have to pay for anything!

Do not eat here!. Tried the chicken pot pie. It tasted spoiled, let my husband taste it. He agreed something was spoiled. Server came back and told us that the cooks found the pot pie to be spoiled. My husband ordered the pot roast, no seasoning. They brought me a BLT and didn't take anything off our ticket. Hoping I don't get sick from the pot pie. I would have given the guest a free meal if I was the manager. We will never eat here!
