There were only two front of house staff doing everything, including taking care of the bar. Didn't like that the drinks menu had no prices. The two margaritas we ordered were large but also quite pricy when we got the bill at 14 USD apiece. It was also a bit odd that when we finished our main courses we were given the bill without being asked if we wanted another drink or dessert and we weren't in their late.
Was disappointed this time. The waiter made good on food we weren't happy with. Only other thing, waiter was on phone on speaker, part of the time he was waiting on us. Unprofessional.
A porter at my hotel told me about this Mexican restaurant about two blocks away. I ate at La Cabana on my first night and loved it. Portions are generous and as soon as you sit down, a waiter delivers water and chips with two sauces. My Enchilada dinner (2 chicken enchiladas with rice and beans) plus a diet coke was $21.00 . I returned for dinner on the second night for their prawns which came with a nice size side salad.
Older than the State of Alaska itself this is a superb Mexican restaurant. The menu choices are large. Not on the menu is a wide assortment of available beer, including on tap for $7.95. Just ask. Senior meals are priced at less than $10. So why is it not crowded when so many are right now? Perhaps because one doesn 't think Mexican food when they visit Anchorage? But it is definitely worth the thought at this restaurant!
Went for diner tonite.had chips and salsa put down on table asap. With refills. Ordered two enchiladas but had to skip the beans as it was made with lard. Hard to believe restaurants still use lard??had rice and a big salad. Margarita was so so but drank it anyway. Average meal, average service.
