This place used to be great. To be fair, it burned down last summer and has relocated. It shares space in East Anchorage with a latin food restaurant. I regret having to criticize it, because I 've only eaten there once since it relocated, and it may well recover its previous form. We ordered bbq pork sandwiches to go. I arrived to pick up the food about a half hour later. The restaurant itself was empty and there were a couple of other people waiting to pick up to go orders. They mentioned that they had been waiting a fair amount of time. I waited another 15 minutes before the food was ready. Staff were friendly. The website described the bbq pork sandwiches as being topped with cole slaw. They were not. It also listed the price as $13.99 but we were charged $15 (the same price discrepancy applied to the chicken breast sandwich we ordered....The guy gave me a 10% senior discount that I was unaware of...but still, the price should be the price advertised. The sandwiches were OK, nothing to rave about. The restaurant offers eat-in service, but they could make a better effort to make it more appealing. I hope this place finds its groove.
While driving to the state high school basketball tournament, we passed Roscoe's Catfish Barbeque and I knew in an instant that we had to try it out. The aroma while driving past was tantalizing! Everyone at Roscoe’s was very friendly and accommodating, and the food is authentic and incredible! It is the type of restaurant that incites a desire to order everything on the menu. Our group ordered just about every item available and every single person was stuffed and very satisfied with the delicious food. In addition to the amazing victuals, Roscoe came out and checked on everyone eating three separate times. I will always visit Roscoe's Catfish Barbeque every time I am in Anchorage.
I ordered two meals so that I could have something to eat for the next day. Not only was the food not worth half of what I paid for it but there was hair in the oxtails. I immediately loss my appetite and threw it all away. The first and last time for me.....
I was in Anchorage for business and decided to check this place out. I live in Seattle, but I'm originally from Mississippi, so I wanted a nice meal that reminded me of home and Roscoe's did not disappoint! I had the Catfish, Mac and Cheese and Collard Greens. Yummy! I cleaned my plate! Dwayne was awesome! I believe he is really from Mississippi and not Alaska...lol Great hospitality and excellent Southern Cuisine. Will definitely be back when I return to Anchorage!
