Calm and infirmative. We were iffy about the cemetery audio tour but we put it on while we went to find our state monument and ended up finishing the tour we loved it so much. The cemetery was very moving.
Family tradition of placing flags within the cemetery for Memorial Day.Always get so emotional while here. It's nice to give a little back.
If you are in the area, this is a must visit. Lots of history. They have a Prisoner of War Museum located inside the Visitor Center. They have a driving or walking tour in and around where the Prisoner Stockade was located. They do a great job describing what each stopped along the route was and what prison life was like for the POW's. There is a National Cemetery here as well. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
If you’re in the area, stop. It’s worth it and will give you a good appreciation for what our POW’s went through in defense of our freedom. It’s very humbling and full of rich history worth learning. If you have time visit the village across the street and have a chat with the ladies that run the museum and little antique shop. Two very memorable ladies that made an impression.
