The views from the restaurant were stunning, which set the tone for the evening. We all had the menu decouverte every mouthful was delicious. Service was friendly and attentive without being obtrusive. A definite return for us.
The view from our suite was spectacular looking down the lake and from the restaurant the panorama was the Viaduct du Garabit. The food lived up to the views . A very well maintained and loved hotel. Thank you for a memorable visit.
On our annual pilgrimage to Spain we always have an overnight stop somewhere in the area of St. Flour but this is the first time at the Beau Site but it wont be the last. Location is superb with wonderful views of the river, lake and the very impressive viaduct. The hotel is a Logis, which is always a good sign especially as it has the 3 cooking pot symbol which indicates a good quality of food and certainly our 4 course meal was excellent with one of the best steaks I have had for a long time. The rooms are smallish but very comfortable with a large comfy bed and a good en suite bathroom only criticism was that the shower was only a wand with nowhere to fix it up high to have a normal shower and getting into the bath would have been quite dangerous for an elderly person. Service was very good and friendly and prices, whilst more expensive than, say, an Ibis were pretty reasonable. All in all a lovely spot to stay after a long journey from the UK.
If you need to find a good place for lunch on the long slog north through France and want something other than a motorway stop, then look no further. It's a short distance from the A75 and well worth the detour. We had the Menu Express which was excellent value and proved delicious. The views to the viaduct and the lake added to the ambiance during our stop. Recommended.
Trusting the Trip advisor community we booked. Firstly, it proved difficult as it appeared that one could only book for three nights. However an email was promptly responded to and we were booked in by Annie for our one night stay After a brilliant exploration of the Millau viaduct what better than to spend a night close to s former world record holder Eifell’s Garabit viaduct Ok dear reader there’s a lot of pink in various hues but beautiful gardens, fabulous pool, expensive sun loungers to gaze over the distant reservoir In my opinion the owners have spent their very hard earned cash on public areas , the gardens , terrace, bar etc. and yes, I agree the bedrooms are a little dated But I really feel there’s much to commend Large rooms, good and efficient showers , plug sockets close to mirrors. Magnifying mirrors A separate WC All good for me thank you Now for the main event if you’ve managed to read thus far The food is sensational. I won’t bore you with the menu but it was all absolutely first class , accompanied by excellent wine at a reasonable price. The wonderful Annie kindly gave us a table with a fantastic view , her endearing staff delighted us at every opportunity Please go for a meal it’s a joy to eat top class food ? Think of it as having a free room to totter off to after you are replete. In the morning there was Annie again with our remaining Sauvignon blanc wrapped and ready to take on our journey north This is a gem. I’ll remember the meal for a long time Thank you everyone
