After wandering around the historic district for about an hour, my husband and I decided to have dinner in L'Atlas. Very nice setting on a picturesque street, delicious couscous, a decent carafe of wine, and lovely service by Fatima, the owner. I would return to this restaurant if I am ever fortunate enough to return to Angouleme.
After a movie theater and a small tour in town to see beautiful cars gathered during the ramparts circuit, we stopped to eat a grill and a hot couscous. The dishes were not bad even if a little fades. the opposite of the atmosphere. in the room, two tables with two people (one couple and two girls) and another large table, about ten people (men and women) who spoke and laughed very loud. Until then, we can tolerate. On the other hand, it is very embarrassing to hear four big words in a sentence of five every second and degrading remarks about Brazilian women. I don't know where that gentleman went down there, but it gives the tone of these preferences. Then another gentleman uses a very rude word that makes one of the two women of the other table uncomfortable, before leaving him noticeably. To everyone else. She had the courage to ask for a little respect in front of a table of several. Here is what I think is even more disrespectful and revolting: the boss, following the explanations of some of this great table adds, about the woman: "there are women stuck. They paid at least?" given the level of reflection and the bias taken, I will never be there again. that she reserves her restaurant to grupes who insult, who do not respect other customers but who consume much more. Especially in drink.
A really cheap, hearty, and delicious complete menu. Meat is excellent and staff is very nice. We spent an excellent evening that ends by way to the very soft crate! A perfect place for lovers of good couscous like there and in general good Mediterranean products. We'll be back for sure!
