Verdemaca - Angra do Heroísmo

This was after first stop after checking into our hotel after our overnight flight. We needed coffee. Desperately. A short distance from our hotel we saw this place, it looked quaint and cozy so we decided to give it a try. I'm so glad we did. Not only were the double espressos and cappuccinos great, but the fresh squeezed orange juice was a welcome surprise. Absolutely delicious. Although everything we ordered was to eat was good, our favorite was the freshly made, personal sized spinach quiche. Flacky crust and the right ratio of filling to crust.

Tasty home made soup, excellent main dish and large glass of red wine included in the daily special, for around 6 Euros, no complaints at all. Excellent service from friendly wait staff who spoke English very well, and provided helpful suggestions. We visited twice, and wish we'd found it sooner!

What a lovely place. Service friendly and helpful. Chicken pasta was great, tasty. Coming back for our last meal tomorrow night.

Great location. Friendly staff. Wonderful espresso. This cafe was a godsend when we arrived after traveling all night and found out our room wouldn't be ready for 4 hours.

We visiting first for a coffee and cake. The service was really fantastic. We returned the next day for lunch and had a great typical fish soup dish. Was great.
