It's too bad as it was very tasty and we had a great time but had to wait awhile (We were visiting with elderly family and it was so convenient to be able to stay in the hotel for brunch). They were very nice about it and discounted our meal but it would have been better if they'd just have had it all together.
I'd like to keep this secret, but my kid is a senior, so we went for brunch on Sunday of Parents weekend, when it is pretty tough to find a reservation. Everything you see online shows just dinner for Rumsey, but OpenTable allowed us to make a reservation. Not an overly long menu, but good choices. Had the eggs benedict, others had the waffle and the salmon on a bagel. All was excellent. Well OK, being from NJ the bagel was somewhat sub-standard, but among the most decent bagels west of the Delaware river. Nice place to sit and talk, not expensive as a nice brunch goes, service was good. Easy walk from campus. Good place.
We knew the restaurant was upscale and pricey . We went as a family for a special dinner together. The food was good for 4 out of 5 of us. Our waiter was a little new. He was not well trained in wine service, opening the bottle and pouring full glasses without offering a taste test first. There were no bus boys to help pour water or attend to our needs as a restaurant of this level should have had. The waiter tried very hard but he had a lot of tables to attend to. Table-side caesar salad was a nice treat we do not often find anymore. Dining took a little too long.
Pleasantly suprised. Had never heard of this restaurant until looking on open table for somewhere new. Old school type of service with table side Caesar salad and bananas foster with was excellent. I had the prime rib which was the special for Saturday night and was not disappointed. My husband had rib eye steak which he said was tasty but too much fat. Our server was Colin I think that was his name) and he was very attentive, but not overly. Overall a wonderful experience.
Great for a group that wanted to sit and talk for a while.
