The main dish arrived first and we asked where the entree was. The waitress said that they were confused and didn't know what we wanted first. This was bizarre. I have never been to a restaurant where they give you the main dish first and then entree ! It was ordered at the same time!! After sending the main back, the entree came out 20 minutes later. Entree arrived, salt and pepper squid, and I had a piece and it was cold. Sent it back to the kitchen and the waitress bought it back and said the owner and the Chef tried it and they think it's hot and than placed the same dish down in front of me. I asked if we could speak with the owner and he couldn't be bothered to come and discuss it. The other half of our table ordered the Meze. Two dishes came out. 20 minutes later, another two dishes arrived and then waited 45 minutes for the last two and asked the waiters 3 times for it. Staff were running around all frazzled and stress was all over their faces and came across in their service which was lacking. When we went to pay the bill. All we asked is for the salt and pepper squid to be removed as we did not eat it and it was sent back. We finally spoke with the owner and we tried to advise him what happened but he was too busy to listen to his customers experience and was trying to get his point across and was argumentative. Seek to understand Daryn before being understood. In addition the Spicey lamb mince was not spicy at all.If you want great food, great customer service and great prices then DONT come here! They provide none of it!
Ordered a mixed plate of mezes and everything on the plate was delicious! Humus, babaganoush, beetroot dip, tabouli, fattoush, pitta, calamari, chicken wing, lamb skewer (a little bit dry) and meatball. About $20 a person plus drinks. Friendly staff. The restaurant is located as part of some gardens so easy to miss. Trust your GPS - its correct!
Wide range of options to suit all tastes in our group of friends. I decided to 'pig out' and have the big breakfast, which included everything, with option of egg style. I opted for scrambled. One of the group had a tagine, others the same as I chose (with different egg styles) and another a lighter option. Copious amounts of excellent coffee were consumed before and during our meal. I admit to being very full afterwards and not wanting to eat much for the rest of the day. I would definitely return when wanting a good breakfast/brunch in a relaxing atmosphere, sat in the gardens.
Had a wonderful afternoon at Meze Me Grove in their sunny front courtyard. We opted for the $20 per person share plate, which included a set combination of small plates and 3 dips. While initially seeming like a good deal, the portion sizes were disappointingly small. I had hoped for more than just one piece of calamari, one fritter, one chicken wing, and one cauliflower floret per person. The food was tasty and the service was polite and friendly, but I felt that the share plate did not offer good value for the price.
I think this is a very busy Restaurant with Very Average food quality, with no attention to detail, service was also average the wait staff did not have any knowledge of what the kitchen was serving they had to check all the time and got out order stuffed up. We tried the Meze plate as an entre' and stopped there it was not worth moving on, apart from the 3 dips the rest of the stuff was poor quality, sparrow wings that were bone dry, the deep fried Zucchini fritter was full of oil, we were served a very small basket of 4 slices of Lebanese bread 3 pieces of very oily fried bread (for 4 persons), you could just about ring the oil out of the bread. We were not game to move on...
