Pit Boys - Annapolis

Not as good as my brother had remembered, ordered 12 large crabs, waited a while ,came out hot but only 1/2 were large, sent back the shrimp, presentation was poor and flavor was lacking, they took off bill, when ready to pay check we called the waitress and she insisted we come.up to counter. We were the only customers in the place. The visit was disappointing due to the build up from my Brothers memory of this spot which was exceptional, which is why we travel 45

I am disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. I ordered the BBQ pork sandwich with Carolina sauce, while my wife ordered the ribs. When our food arrived, I took a bite of my sandwich and immediately spit it out - it tasted rancid. The sauce, made from vinegar, was the only ingredient that could have gone bad, so it must have been the meat itself. The servers were apologetic and handled the situation gracefully, but I still felt sorry for them. These things happen, but it was a disappointing meal overall.

The ribs appeared to have been boiled and then coated with a bottled sauce. It's possible they were cooked elsewhere and reheated at the restaurant. The crab cakes were decent, but contained some shell and lacked lump meat. The sides were unremarkable. It seems as though the restaurant aims to specialize in crab dishes rather than barbecue. The floor was greasy and slippery, but the bathroom was clean. There was a young lady who served as the host, waitress, cashier, food runner, and bartender. She mentioned that she only makes $6 an hour and did her best to provide good service.

I visited this restaurant for the first time and the food was amazing! My husband had the wings and I had the turkey Reuben, both were perfect. The onion rings were also delicious, although they were so hot that they burned my lip and chin when I bit into them. However, that didn't stop me from enjoying them! I definitely recommend stopping by for a great meal. The staff are also fantastic.

Food is always excellent, and staff is nice. Small cozy environment, and it's family owned.
