If you go to the Val di Fiemme in the Dolomites (a jewel! and you have your own means of transport, forget the restaurants in Cavalese, Predazzo, Moena etc. and drive straight for the Kurbishof near Anterivo (less than 30 minutes by car from Cavalese....This is the next thing good, old-fashioned home cooking. Hartmann and his wife Sara have transformed their traditional country house into a warm, welcoming environment for the tired traveller (yes, you can also book a room). Sara Köche, Hartmann and his daughter serve the best price for miles around, all on site, including vegetables directly from their garden and meat from locally grown cattle.
If you want to experience the South Tyrolean hospitality of the first hand, you should not miss this experience. Kurbishof is a gastronomic experience in one of the most beautiful parts of the world. Close to Anterivo and Cavalese in the Trentino province of Italy...is this old world garden with a fantastic selection of local and international cuisine and some excellent wines. Hartmann is your charming host, his wife in the kitchen is a gastronomic magician and his daughter Angelica ensures that the service is both charming and excellent. Not to miss an evening
Lucky us, we found it by chance and hope our photos prove that we loved the accommodation, food, views and the welcoming owners. We drove part of the wine route and then up into to the mountains to stay at this hotel with a few...gorgeous bedrooms. The family had taken the plunge 11 years ago and turned a hay barn into their dream. The wife and young son are the talented cooking team and the husband and daughter are front of house. Other family members are also involved. So much effort and love has been put into everything, from the beautiful décor to the food produced. It deserves to be a huge success and more widely known. Anna had been so delighted with everything she saw upon arrival that she texted messages saying “We have arrived in Heidi Land and it is perfection”. In the afternoon she met a woman watering the huge vegetable plot who said ..”Hello I am Heidi”!!! We wish we could have stayed for much longer. Two nights bed and lavish breakfast, plus two amazing dinners with excellent wine came to just under €500. The family are so hospitable and clearly enjoy what they have chosen to do. We encourage you to try this peaceful paradise for yourselves. English is spoken as well as Italian and German.
Very peculiar location, with beautyful panorama all around: woods, valley mountain Very nice guests, and the food is really distinctive, with lot of local produces, good choice of wines. Warm atmosphere in a typical house.
