Le Provencal Beach - Antibes

Superb waterfront restaurant and well worth searching out ( not immediately obvious fro the road). We ate here twice in our week in St Juan after some pretty indifferent meals. Superb fresh fish and steak cooled well. Daily menu changes and burger and gazpacho were great too. Great place to watch sunset over the water. Wonderful

This restaurant was recommended for dinner by our hotel. Evidently it has a good reputation as private beach and lunch venue. First impressions on arrival were very positive, with friendly welcoming staff, an attractive restaurant space and the most stunning view of the bay in Juan. Service was excellent throughout, and there was a good wine list, but it was all sadly let down by the food. Our starters were a seafood guacamole which was pleasant enough although a bit sloppy on texture. For main we chose a beautiful fresh turbot which we knew would be expensive but the raw specimen we were shown was so beautiful that we decided to push the boat out. Unfortunately the king of fish was overcooked to sogginess, and was served with no sauce. There was an eggcup of unpleasant oily salsa which had no place with the fish, and worst of all a bowl of superheated microwaved vegetables. Both of these bowls were returned uneaten. The bill for a bottle of wine (€38), 2 starters and 2 mains came to €249. On previous evenings we had eaten similar meals of vastly superior quality at Cap Riviera and Le Perroquet for €100 less. Such a shame.

First impressions of this place are great , spectacular views & well laid out classy restaurant. However it seemed to go down hill from there personally, the service was very poor, having to wait a long time to order food even though at the time we were one of the first tables to sit. The food was very overpriced for what it was, I ended up ordering the simplest thing on the menu a penne arribiatta , which was bland & overcooked, disappointing to say the leased. However I can only speak for myself as the rest of the tables food seemed to go down well, and was presented great.Would try again , but I'd say one thing to this place , less focus on presentation and more on taste

My family and I went to Le Provencal for lunch. Having waited a very long time to place our order, we were told by the maitre d' that we should be grateful to get a table and that I should not be rude to him. We subsequently left!With staff like that you do not deserve customers!!!

I have been coming to this beach for the last 5 years, with my wife but also with the kids. This is a great place. Food is fantastic and service is perfect.
