We ordered some Couscous, Tajine, Pastilla, Mint tea & Desserts, everything was really delicious! They have vegetarian options as well. The owner was very nice and kind while we were there, the decoration and ambiance of the restaurant really transports you to another place.I will visit Wiame again for sure.
I haven't been back to Morocco in years, but I have wonderful memories of food in Marrakech (La Mammounia) and Casablanca (working for the King, he had our food brought in from The Sheraton). As well as excellent home-cooked Moroccan food in Rabat (the fish) and Essaouira (the couscous). Since we were in Antibes, I wasn't expecting anything special. Surprise! This place if FABULOUS. We were there for a week, and ended up for dinner here 3 nights out of 7. The Pastilla, made with chicken and almonds, not pigeon, is delightful. The tagine with meatballs is superb. The couscous is abundant and sumptuous. And the desserts are fantastic, especially the sweet Moroccan pastry. I should also mention the warm and friendly welcome from the owner, during Ramadan (so he was hungry) and finally HATS OFF to the chef, his wife, who makes this a great restaurant in Antibes. Oh, we also really dug the decor...And surprisingly good prices!
We were looking for a Moroccan restaurant for dinner one night, but didn't want to head into Antibes and search for something amongst all the touristy places. We found this on TripAdvisor having been near where we were staying, and boy were we treated. The owner was friendly and very welcoming. The menu is limited, but thats because it is all homemade recipes by his wife! What a great surprise that was. My husband had the tagine, and I have the lamb which was totally amazing. Flavourful and tasted authentic. Not like some places that seem everything is heated in the microwave.Make sure you are hungry when you go. The portions are large.
Small restaurant with an enclosed terrace, friendly welcome. Couscous, tajin, pastilla and pizza on the menu. Copious servings and good mix of flavours.
A friend of us arranged a large table to try a real Pigeon pastilla menu. Priced at 45€ each for the pre-ordered menu, to include one aperitif, 2 glasses of wine, no appetizer?, the pastilla, Moroccan pastries and mint tea. To start with, two of the invites came and sat in the front room waiting for the other guests for 15 minutes without anyone welcoming them? When all guests arrives, it took 45 minutes! to get the first drink?, then the famous pastilla arrived in a deep bowl? No one could guess what it was, we thought it was an appetizer, and had to ask what it was. The pastilla was tasty but not much pigeon, lots of raisins and dried nuts. One or two large pastilla set on the table would have been more presentable and would have given a touch of authenticity. Portion was small, we received some couscous and sweet? broth later, but the semolina was whitish and overcooked? To crown the dinner, the famous Moroccan pastries, 4 little pieces on a coffee plate for four? Why not a beautiful tray served at the table with the pastry choice? Mint tea which was weak and too sweet. However, the wine Domaine Toulal Guerrouane 2015 red was an excellent match with the pastilla.....To summarize this dinner, the restaurant lost the opportunity to give value and made everyone unhappy about the organizer. First time and last time for all of us....a real pity....
