Gentlemen of the al carbon at the URABA headquarters, advice if you don't know how to make an ajiaco, don't offer it, it offends that they sell a dish that is far from resembling an ajiaco. I say this because I am from the land of ajiaco and it makes me angry to see how they throw away a dish that is traditionally delicious and damage it in that way. If you don't know how to do it, don't do it, don't offer it.
My stomach hurt after eating the mysteries Mexican burger here. This is for the Premium Plaza location I can 't find that location online, so am leaving the review here. Very misleading. I waited forever for the burger to be cooked, strangely, and when it was finally served it was not only redder than I would expect a “well done” burger to be (I requested well done), the atctual texture and taste of the burger was not like traditional meat. It looked great, like it was meat grilled because it was, but the taste and texture were totally foreign and unlike anything I’d ever had. I genuinely regret eating whatever it was. Once I was done, my stomach instantly reacted negatively which further confirmed that this was not “carne”, generally meaning “beef,” in most of Latin America. When I explicitly asked if this was carne, I was told yes, several times. But later, when I insisted to know the ingredients and asked what was the composition of this meat I was told it was several meats “beef, pork and some fat.” I was also told the meat was “processed” and “artisanal.” Well, “artisanal” is certainly one creative way to explain non beef. In truth that is a totally inappropriate term for this. Artisinal means traditional or non mechanized (Google), the very opposite of whatever that was. I was both grossed out and annoyed. Hours later and I still feel a bit nauseous. I specificially asked if it was carne and was told it was when it obviously was not. Mid eating I kept thinking I didn’t even want to finish the burger but did so to not waste my money and because I thought perhaps this was just a different kind of burger in this part of the world — absolutely not. I’ve had steaks that were just $3 in Colombia with more integrity than that burger, good grief. I also don’t understand why the restaurant felt the need to make a burger with “filler meats” in the first place — it’s not like it was a cheap sandwich, it was roughly $5 6 USD for the burger, some fries (inexpensive) and a small drink. That’s not a cheap meal in Colombia or even in the US. Overall, really uncomfortable, so uncomfortable I had to leave this review. I am now skeptical of all their meats, especially the burgers, and the company should have to answer for why they are making their burgers with “filler meats” without fairly informing the customer upfront. I have NO IDEA of what “meat” that was and am concerned
