NEVER EVER order online or get takeaway here!!! ???????????? Bowl was halfway full and rice was not separated properly at all? Asked for double caramelizas eggplant and pita croutons and clearly neither were fulfilled. No replacements to substitute them either. This was ordered nearly 3 hours before closing too! Seems like they only give you appropriate servings if you?re dining or ordering in person to see them fill up your plate. They used to be decent with portions, even giving you pita bread on the side. Nowadays, you?re lucky if they even give you more than a halfway full bowl! They like to put sauces inside the bowl too to make it look full. Beware when ordering from the Mezeh Apex location! This is the absolutely worst Mezeh branch.
Mezeh is a fast, healthy, and budget friendly halal experience. You pick your options and build your own bowl, salad, or wrap, they even let you sample things before adding to your dish. Unlike most Mediterranean places, they have some spicy options and most of their flavor comes from herbs and spices rather than loads of salt. We got the chef's bowls for a late night dinner. Every bowl was colorful array of brown rice, greens, chicken, and a variety of pickles and spreads accompanied by a soft, warm pita. For around $10. Will definitely go back to try the wraps.
Mezeh continues to add locations in the Triangle with the latest in Apex at the junction of 64 and 55. This location just opened on 8 26 with friendly staff and fresh food. This is a build you own bowl type of place with one of more base (greens, spinach, rice, cauliflower rice), protean (chicken, lamb, falafel, steak) and a TON of toppings to choose from, the most I 've seen of any place like it. You can also get it in a pita or wrap. The best thing is the food is fresh AND tasty full of flavors from that part of the world. The hardest part is to choose which toppings, sauces, and hummus you want, given all the choices you have. Not sure if there is a limit on the number but it 's higher than the number of toppings I asked for (around 10). Check out the eggplant topping excellent! The roasted chickpea is also very good and adds a nice crunchy texture to it. The décor is inviting, and very nicely themed. The price is on par with other restaurants of this type but the food and the selection is much better. The portion size is generous. Many will be able to get a meal and half or two meals out of one bowl order. We ate there on opening day and was told the outdoor seating area will be installed shortly (within a few days) so by the time you read this, it 's probably done. This is a great addition to the Apex Cary Morrisville area. We now have two of them one here in Apex and another one at the Wegmans plaza on Davis Drive just over the Cary border in Morrisville. Both are excellent places.
What an addition to the area. This place is just what my taste buds needed. Ultra fresh and home made and delicious ingredients in a sort of ?Mediterranean salad works.? So nice to not find just kebabs on rice and gyro platters. For my Philadelphia peeps this is ULTRA close to that sweet sweet Naf Naf Grill experience you?ve been lusting after since moving. The shug paste dressing will light you UP. With love.
