Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen - Appleton

When Popeyes first opened in Appleton, it was fantastic, with staff from the South who truly knew how to prepare the food. My wife and I visited for lunch today, but we were disappointed. The chicken tasted old, as if it had been cooked earlier in the day, and it was greasy, reminiscent of KFC. The red beans and rice were lackluster; the rice was either undercooked or dried out from sitting too long. I believe they need to hire employees who take pride in their work. At this point, I’m not inclined to eat there again. It's disheartening to see that during lunch, there were no customers, especially considering how packed it used to be. What a shame.

While the spicy fried chicken and mashed potatoes with gravy were delicious, I left feeling somewhat disappointed. I had to wait a lengthy 23 minutes in the drive-thru, which was frustrating. I also spent $2.99 for extra gravy, but the small container was only half full, which really annoyed me. The biscuits tend to be dry, but I enjoy them with gravy. Overall, I feel that rising prices have made Popeyes less worth the cost.

This place is fantastic! The guy who took our order at the drive-thru had a little trouble with his words and ended up laughing at himself. He apologized, saying he had a really long day. It was so amusing and truly brightened our evening. I wish him all the happiness in the world, along with plenty of lighthearted mistakes.

10/10 spicy chicken tendies. The best time to go is an hour before they close. It's always fresh, they never mess up on the sauces, and are always nice.

Ordered two sandwiches that were supposed to have cheese and bacon, and wings which were supposed to be a 12 piece. We got two plain sandwiches and a 6 piece instead. When the usual adults are there the food is great and so is the service. If you see a group of younger looking kids check your food. It’s doing too much to check who’s working to see if your food is going to be what you ordered and was charged for. The popcorn shrimp and fries were the only thing right on our order.
