Jungle Rain Cafe - Arco Da Calheta

Came here after a 4 x 4-day organized trip, I had a nice meal of a chicken stable with garlic butter and french brittle and that was very tasty and worth around 9 or 10 euros. a nice little bar whip seems. high with friendly staff and would try again

We have a steak sandwich with wein for lunch, my sandwich had bugs in salat and the steak was really veiny. we talked to the waitress about it and she denied everything. we just paid. sad to say. but avoid this place.

During our Jeep trip we stayed for lunch in the jungle rain, we had a steak that we grilled on a hot stone on the table. friendly staff and delicious food.

We were walking the lavada trails near the reservoir and had intended to go as far as the 25 fontes but the weather closed in so decided instead to head back to the car and came upon the cafe en route. A very welcome relief...from the cold with good selection of hot and cold drinks. My cake was a little old but still very good. We watched the meat skewers coming out for people who were having a meal and were very envious as it looked so nice. Another time we would definitely allow enough time to eat here.

As some people have said, I really don’t understand these bad reviews..!!! We went here as part of a discussion with True Spirit and were very pleasantly surprised. Considering how far the restaurant is from any civilisation and the spectacular views, the food was very...pleasant. Loved the mixed meat skewer and the chicken salad. Others in our group had just the chicken skewer, the steak on a stone and no one had anything to complain about, great wine selection too! The staff were lovely and did everything they could to help us, and their English was great too. There’s a little tuckshop as well if you need to get anything for the road from Madeira wine to tolberones haha.
