So even though my friendly neighborhood Chinese restaurant has provided me with some of the easiest of conveniences when I haven't felt like cooking, its also been one the easiest spots for me to neglect. But it's time that I give it its due for being better than the average neighborhood Chinese restaurant. If you're looking for easy and inexpensive Americanized Chinese options like General Tso's Chicken, house fried rice, and egg foo young, you'll find it here. But since its owned by the same people who run a fancier sit down Chinese restaurant in Golden Bowl [hidden link] , you're also able to get more elevated options like mango shrimp, Peking duck, and asparagus chicken. Whether its been for a cheap lunch combo platter, or I needed to do it up bigger with a Phoenix Roll and Thai mango fish filet, Golden China hooks it up at a decent price.
This is a pretty solid joint. The food has always been at least above average, but nothing really stands out as being the best Chinese you can get. Nothing disappoints, but it does miss that wow factor. I've actually stopped coming here, because I go to their sit-down restaurant, Golden Bowl, a store or two down the road.
The place is clean friendly an the food is always spot on steve Ding an family are great people also the owners I just love them an so much enjoy the atmosphere
After ordering take out from here several times, I've never had a bad experience until today. I ordered dumplings and bean curd soup, and found strands of hair in my steamed dumplings. I called and explained the matter with the receptionist and asked for my money back. Once the manager arrived to refund my money for the food back, she took her bare hand, took the hair out of my food, and argued me down about what was in my food. Instead of understanding that their shouldn't be anything in my food except what I ordered, the woman was extremely defensive. Bad customer experience!
Probably my least favorite Chinese meal I 've ever had. Accidentally ordered from here after hearing good things about Golden BOWL. (Same owner? So, the guy at the counter said that Golden China is more American ... Golden Bowl is more Chinese. I understand there is a market for this style of Chinese restaurant, but if you 're looking for flavor, garlic, and spices, I wouldn 't recommend. The General Tso 's was hot and crispy, but the sauce was so bland and reminded me of a thick syrupy ketchup. Although we asked for it to be spicy, it wasn 't at all. The Mango Shrimp was ok (great idea , but the shrimp was kinda fishy. Sauce was sweet and bland. Phoenix roll was the best thing we ordered. Hot and crispy. The order took very long and they compensated with a free bottle of soda.
