The location is a bit surprising, placed in the middle of a very unassuming ski resort. But don't let the exterior fool you. The restaurant itself is warm and quaint, and the owners couldn't be nicer. Most importantly though, the food is fantastic! The first time we went we each tried one of their tartiflette variations. Both were excellent. I've since tried a number of the different Southern France standards they offer, and I haven't been disappointed once. Make sure to give them a call before you trek up the mountain, because it's a tiny place, which seems to be well known by the locals. Enjoy.
Absolutely delicious food. Very friendly owners and great views of the Pyrenees over looking Pau and the valley below.
When we visited it was the school holidays and it was very very busy so we chose this restaurant because every other place had screaming and crying children! I am learning French and the owner was very kind and helpful when we ordered. We both ordered different versions of their tartiflette because it is our favourite meal when it's snowing. We were told it would be 15 minutes and asked if that was acceptable. It was, we were happy to wait. When the the food arrived it looked amazing. I can honestly say it was the best tartiflette I have ever eaten in France or anywhere! I savoured every single mouthful. I asked the chef for his recipe but he politely declined (as I thought he would unfortunately but worth asking! We had a wonderful dessert too. Everything was perfect, rare for any restaurant! This place is almost a 2 hour drive from where we live but I can't wait to return. Forget the other restaurants just try this one. You won't regret it.
