Le P'ti Bouchon - Argelès-sur-Mer

We had not had mussels in France for a while so thought we would have another try and pleased we did. It was a Monday evening and as usual the choice of restaurants was limited but thankfully the Le P’ti Bouchon was open and serving what we wanted. We decided to have starters, crevettes prawns) for my wife and bulots whelks) for me. Both were enjoyed. It was then the mussel moment! For my wife, it was moules chorizo and me the moules roquefort. Pleasingly, the moules mussels) were the small variety which tend to taste better and which they did further enhanced by the Roquefort and Chorizo sauce.They were served with a bowl of French fries which also tasted good. We shared a bottle of in house rosé which was a good accompaniment to the mussels. The staff were also very pleasant and efficient which added to the evening. I am certain we will go again based on our experience and despite there being quite a lot of average and below comments. Surprised by them but were mainly from the past.

King prawns were the only saving grace. Everything else was poor. Moules Marinere which was apparently their strong dish, was dire. Tiny mussels, 20% closed, and virtually no liquid. Wanted to get in the blue and white restaurant right nearby but was sadly fully booked, probably because the food was much better

We had a great lunch here today. The service was excellent and all was delivered with humour and warmth. The food was really excellent (moules gratinés, sardines, carpacio d'ananas) a reasonably priced menu of the day. And a glass of Cava a 3 euros was a very nice surprise! I would really recommend this restaurant and can't wait to try it again on our next visit.

We went here as a family. Had to wait 2 hours for a starter. Watched other tables being served before us. Le patron was v rude did not apologise. Food when it arrived was ok but kids were tired and v hungry by then. Only good thing was fireworks but they were free and we missed most of them as after 3 1/2 hrs we were waiting for our main courses. Avoid

Too much waiting, unprofessional staff. disappointing flats. I don't know what to spend a good time. my opinion: pass your way
