Golden Dragon - Argyll Bute

We ordered two dishes, chicken curry and Szechuan, with rice and spring rolls. The curry was bland and greasy, but the Szechuan was tasty. The spring rolls were burnt and lacked flavor. The meal was quite expensive for such basic dishes.

I visited Islay during the festival and, due to my poor planning of not making reservations at other local restaurants, I ended up here as a last resort. The menu on the window advertised Thai and Chinese cuisine, but I found it to be a bit of a stretch. We ordered pad Thai and panang curry. The pad Thai was very dry and the curry tasted more like Indian curry rather than Thai. It was brown in color instead of the vibrant red I expected, and it lacked the traditional Thai flavors. The staff member on duty, who I assume was the owner, spent the entire time on their phone in the dining area and provided poor service. We asked for water but never received it. The only time they got off their phone was to give us our change, and they had a smile that seemed to suggest they were expecting a tip, which I gave regardless.

We ordered a variety of takeout dishes from Golden Dragon, which offers a range of Asian cuisines. Our selection was mainly Chinese food, and all of it was fantastic.

Just got a takeaway, 4 different meals, each one was horrific. We seen them cooking, the chicken was pre cooked, heated up in a wok and dipped in the relevant sauce. Chicken was dryer than a Bedouins bawsack. Don't start me on the chips. The pictures of the meals are what we left as unable to eat anymore despite being ravenous. Avoid at all cost

Tried the Chinese Take Away when we found all restaurants around Port Charlotte either full or closed. An excellent meal. The lovely owner brought the food to the car...the extra mile!!!!
