Super friendly staff bet it’s a very cosy spot on a winter’s evening with its wood burning stove. We would make a point of going again. Barman was playing some brilliant music electric folk he was very knowledgeable. Sorry I forgot to ask your name but thank you for educating me about Runrig!
Wonderul food, delicious beers, great service. We stopped in after the ferry over from Oban and had a delightful lunch with a couple pints. Highly recommend checking it out!
Our family of 4 plus our dog arrived hungry and ready to eat at 6:30pm… we asked if we could eat in, but the restaurant was full, so we concluded to eat outdoors. We we’re told this isn’t possible and so we must order takeaway! Which we did… 30 mins after ordering it was raining outdoors, so we went to ask if we could sit in the restaurant, as perhaps someone had finished… They had, yay, so we we’re taken through by the girl who took our order, and my name, and waited for our food. By approx 7:30 I was getting pretty hungry, as were the kids, but we we’re chatting to a lovely couple so we waited longer. 15 mins later I couldn’t wait any longer and went back to the separate bar area and asked how the food was getting on? The bar girl replied it’s just here on the bar and has been for 15 mins!!! What? I asked why they didn’t bring it through, or let us know and she then asked me if I was Andrew!!!??? I was one of only 8 customers, three of which were the rest of my family! I was so hungry I tucked in, pissed off and disappointed. My wife insisted that they heated up her and my daughters food, which they begrudgingly did! The burger was lovely, yet tepid in temperature… The pizzas were great too. Thumbs up to the chef, thumbs down to the useless bar staff. I ordered another drink, hoping for an apology and perhaps a freebie for the trouble, but no. Unimpressed at the service, but like I said, great food. What a shame!
We were staying in the campsite opposite and ate at the pub two nights running. Although it looks a basic menu the food was excellent, well presented, fast service and hot, at a good price. The very busy, limited, young staff were very helpful and humorous and made our visit definitely worthwhile. Plenty of outdoor seating but due to inclement weather we ate indoors in the small restaurant area.
Can 't comment on the food but the place looks like the country pub in 'An American Werewolf in London '. Local clientele effing and jeffing at 6 in the evening. Various do 's and don 'ts plastered all over the bar. A general feeling of unpleasantness tossed in. Barman friendly enough.
