Christy's Tasty Queen - Arkansas City

My God the ladies there are absolutely such sweethearts the food is amazing the price is amazing I couldn't ask for better food especially for the price and the service. I tried to burnt ends Sandwich yesterday absolutely the best burnt ends I've ever had and then today I went back for that and a pork tenderloin breaded and I could not believe the size of that sandwich both absolutely amazing but I would definitely recommend the Burnt ends sandwich. Best food I've had in Kansas City so far in two weeks.

First, I have to start by saying I am a long time resident of Turner and have been a patron of Christy's for over 30 years. I went to Turner High directly across the street and have fond memories of sitting on the bench after school with a cheeseburger and a shake. Make no mistake, the food here is still stellar. They have always had and still have, in my opinion, the best tenderloin sandwich in the city. The problem over the last couple of years has been the price. I stopped in this week over lunch after not having been for quite a few months. For a tenderloin sandwich, a single bacon cheeseburger and two accompanying baskets of a fries and onion rings mix, we paid just north of $30. I realize in the current times restaurants have been stretched thin, but I can't justify $30 for a two person meal at a short-order restaurant. As much as I love the place and it pains me to say it, I won't be back until the prices retreat at least a little from their current level.

Best tender in the city at this time. I'm talking the platter size tenderloin hanging all around the bun--and not too thin. That first bite of warm crispy meaty goodness is pure heaven. I can never wait so it's done in the truck. This place is very reminiscent of the 70s. I drive from eastern KC to this old school hamburger joint (30 min. Spent $11 for a tender and drink. The menu is huge from sandwiches, sides, shakes, etc. you name it. It kinda blows your mind at all the different items they make in this small joint. No dine-in though. Just outside tables. However, they have something for anyone. Got to try it!
