Legal sea foods We order Caesar salad, fish tacos, clam chowder, and a lobster roll. The Caesar salad didn’t have a lot of dressing, but they gave us more upon request; the lobster roll is big and delicious; the fish tacos are good; and the clam chowder was good, but is was not hot enough. Overall, I did like the place and recommend it.
Wow. Had a long enough layover that I didn't have to rush. Cool thing is that if I'd needed to be in a hurry, this place would've been perfect. Server/bartender (I sat at the bar) was named Rich. Excellent. Attentive and personable. Gave me some recommendations and I wound up getting fried scallops with fries and asparagus. I prefer hand cut fries, but for [presumably] frozen, slightly battered fries, they were good. Asparagus was perfect (seems to have been grilled over gas, but had a nice char and had the perfect amount of firmness not overdone but not crispy). As for the fried scallops, just perfect. Oil was obviously at ideal temp. No burned batter (as you sometimes experience with the oil is too hot) and they were cooked absolutely perfectly. Excellent breading, too. Finally, the food came out within five minutes or so of my ordering it. Tells me they've got good management and staff. Sure, they're at an airport and need to be fast paced, but I'm used to experiencing service slow enough to make me fear I'll miss my flight. Summary: eat here when you're at DCA.
You want to sit at the bar or either the tables at the back of the bar, a much better view of the airport. They have beautiful floor-to-ceiling windows. This location keeps the high standards of the chain from Boston! Kayla was a professional waiter. The clam chowder is cooked to perfection, and Key Lime pie has the right amount of lime. Overall wonderful experience!
Our excellent waitress was very prompt, friendly and professional. The lump crabcake appetizer was delicous crab with no bread filling, and they kindly served it on split plates for us. The lobster roll was full of tasty lobster meat, and the clam chowder had a light delightful broth with clams potatoes. The fried whole-belly clams were delightful with a light, sweet taste. A glass of Allagash White draft beer perfectly rounded out the meal.
