We visited Bar dos Pescadores at 3 pm on Monday, and that meant that the restaurant was relatively empty (until we were gone, more tables were occupied). The restaurant is located in a beautiful place, right on the beach, and it has sitting outside, which means that you can have a meal right by the sea. There are paid parking directly in front of and public transport nearby. The menu is diverse, but the focus is seafood that they really do well. You have a nice selection of drinks, beer and spirits. I'm uncertain if wine is available. We had Casquinha de Siri (similar to a crab cone) for appetizers it is with Dende oil that gives a beautiful and very distinctive taste, and served with cheese above. For the net we shared a Moqueca de Namorado e Camarão (Namorado Sandperch and Prawns stew). Portion sizes for starters and nets were generous, there were three of us and we couldn't finish the Moqueca, which is intended for 2 people. The dish is served with rice, Pirão (similar to a fish engraving) and Farofa (seasonal cassava flour). It is important to say that the Moqueca served in this restaurant is the Moqueca Capixaba (which does not contain Dende Oil). However, when we asked the question, the waiter offered to request a Moqueca Bahiana (with Dende Oil) instead, but we did not take it on the offer. I am uncertain whether this is something they always do or if that was offered because the kitchen was not too busy. The service was fast and waiters were friendly and attentive. They volunteer information when they were relevant, but were not intrusive. I also felt that the prices were fair for the portion sizes, atmosphere and food quality. I will recommend friends and will come back next time I am in Buzios.
Fantastic food and even better Caipirinhas with the best sunset in Buzios. The shrimp Moqueca was the best we had throughout Brazil, and the servers fish it personally at the table to make sure that we mix the flavors accurately. The generous and affordable capirinhas were served with a beautiful shrimp a work of art. If you love food and aesthetics, this place is for you.
