Artesia restaurant review. (2022 . This time at Road Runner in Artesia, NM. I was in the mood for southern comfort foods and chicken fried steak happened to be on the menu. The name can be confusing, but all that means is that there are spices, normally used to add seasoning to chicken that are added to the breading. The Texas chili that came with it was in a small cup, but every mouthful was so satisfying, it was just what the doctor ordered and I actually ended up taking half of it home. Definitely 4/5 (would have preferred a ratio of more steak less breading, as we were searching for it while eating leftovers. Not that the breading isn't delicious enough on its own (oh it is! . Comfortable dining and friendly staff. #gourmetrecovery #artesiarestaurants #newmexico #firstmarriedyear #wehaveanexcusetoalwayscomeback
This place used to be called Touch Down BBQ, now it's the Roadrunner Grill and BBQ. Good service and great ribs. I had the 4 rib plate with coleslaw and green beans. The ribs were big and wonderfully smoky. The coleslaw was creamy, tangy and delicious. The green beans were packed with bacon and spices. It was so much food that I had to take 2 of the ribs to go!
In town for business for 4 days and on no carb diet. I check google yelp for restaurant near me at the Hampton Inn in Artesia, New Mexico. Needless to say the I'm already a picky eater, a lot of places are closed or have a limited menu due to Covid-19. Nevertheless I searched for Salads with grilled chicken or shrimp, or a dinner plate with grilled chicken that's not served with sauce or shrimp not grilled in butter. Finally I found Roadrunner Grill. The reviews where older mixed comments about the menu food. But they have several different salads that I could choose from. Now, they don't open till 5pm That fine so my co worker and I came around 6:30pm. The place had one other customer. We was greeted and told that we could sit anywhere. I believe her name is Cheri(if not ... my bad) very friendly and attentive, but then again why we are the only two there. It's my belief that even it was full she would still give awesome service (Thank you) I have the fajitas chicken salad and my co worker had 2 pork chop. Long Story Short, The food was FANTASTIC! The grilled chicken was seasoned just right with grilled bell peppers onions. The pork chops was just as taste tender per my co worker.
The roadrunner grill is situated within the Best Western Pecos Inn. It seems to be loved by locals and is super convenient for hotel guests. Do not be scared off by bad reviews, the food is great. However, I will be honest in my review and say that my partner and I did not like the fried pickles (they were super salty and not tasty which is why I am giving 4 stars not 5). Hang on tight though, our main dishes were freaking awesome. I had the fish and veggies, it was BOMB. The veggies were seasoned perfectly and the tilapia was great. My partner had the Barbara Jean and he loved it. In addition to the great entrees, the service was fantastic. Definitely check this place out! Also, we had breakfast here the following morning and everything was great.
