The Wobbly Kea - Arthur's Pass

You don't have many choices to eat in the Pass but if you happen to end up at the Wobbly Kea it isn't a terrible choice. I hadn't eaten vegetables in a few days and I have a cheese addiction so I saw the Pear and Halloumi salad as a logical lunch choice. The salad and pears were obviously fresh and the halloumi perfectly grilled and chopped into the salad. The dressing is just the right amount and I left perfectly satisfied.....and I ate some vegetables!

We got chips with the $1 extra mayo. Bit steep, but pretty deece. Was kind of like getting take away fish and chips, but came in a bowl. Took a while to come out. The bathrooms at this place were pretty no good.

Not many choices in the pass. Came in here for a late lunch and staff opened the kitchen special for us. Tried the curry and beef casserole (beef stew). Both were surprisingly good. The beef stew tastes a lot better with hot sauce (make sure to bring your own). Prices are pretty high but given the location it's not that unreasonable.

Stopped here when we were having car trouble to have a coffee and figure out what to do. plugged our phone in to charge while we talked as one of us was going to have to hitchhike onwards and we were told it was either $2.50 or a meal to charge it. Place was basically empty so don't see how one phone charger plugged in would have made a difference to their day music was depressing AF anyways so we left not welcoming and won't be stopping there again, thanks

Tasteless food! Stopped here for coffee and sandwiches, beautiful setting with outside seating and a roaring fire inside. Sandwiches tasteless and as for the bacon and egg sandwiches, the bacon hadn't even been cooked. Would not recommend!
