It seemed that they were not prepared to handle the unexpected rush, as the waiter explained to us. Unfortunately, many items on the menu, such as grilled fish and salads, were not available. We also did not receive the roomali rotis that we had specifically ordered. The waiter and server were unable to understand "clear soup" on the menu and brought us a thick soup instead, which we had to send back. Although there were many Chinese dishes on offer, we did not try them. Moving on to the main dishes: The succulent Murg Angaar was cooked to perfection, as was the Murg Tikka Biryani. The chicken bhuna, chicken curry, and dal tadka were average. The falooda dessert was okay, although we could see why it could drive people crazy. Overall, it was an average dining experience, certainly not living up to its reputation.
As the name suggests, our group is always satisfied with our visits to Shalimar for both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. The food is excellent, the service is very good, and the prices are just right. We especially enjoy the bheja masala and lamb dishes. It is worth visiting multiple times to try the various menu options - it took us at least 12-15 visits to sample everything. Overall, a great dining experience.
We visited Shalimar last week .Reached at 10 15 pm, were served at 11 15 pm.Apparently they were not able to handle the unexpected rush that's what the waiter told us.Many dishes on the menu like grilled fish and salads were not available. Also the roomali rotis ,which we specially wanted to have. The waiter and the server could not understand 'clear soup' on the menu and bought a thick soup with generous dose of starch which we obviously returned. Many Chinese dishes were also there but we did not try.Now the pros : Succulent Murg Angaar ,cooked to perfection. So is the Murg Tikka Biryani.Average chicken bhuna ,chicken curry and Dal tadka.Falooda was Ok, though we could see people going crazy over it.An average experience, certainly not living up to their legacy.
