If you remember the days of Fonzies in Nundah, you'll be happy to know that the Kiwi Shop is now satisfying our burger cravings. With fantastic food, excellent service, and no margarine in sight, this local business is worth supporting. Be sure to stop by for a great meal!
I was driving by and suddenly had a craving for a piece of fish. I didn't realize it was a New Zealand shop, but decided to stop in. I ended up having the most delicious paua fritter I've ever had outside of New Zealand, and it was only $6.00. Although they offered a paua fritter burger, I decided to stick with just the fritter because it was so good.
This little gem is wonderful for a local burger joint. It has loads of Kiwi sourced produce and it's always really busy early in the morning with the tradies on their way to work. Give it a try.
The cafe with a few stools out the front is situated on busy Rode Road in Wavell Heights. The cafe is a converted general store specialising in popular Kiwi (NZ) produce like relishes, cookies, confectionery. The main business appears to be take away Merlo Coffees. The coffee was good and reasonably priced $3:50. Unfortunately the cafe doesn't not provide a water station. You must buy water which I find very unnecessary. In Europe and Australia most cafes today serve complimentary water with coffee. I probably won't go back because of this. There's plenty of good cafes close by who provide water with their coffee.
