Broadlands Sports Grill - Ashburn

I went to this restaurant for an early dinner and ordered the salad and cheese curds. Both portions were small and expensive. The service was unfriendly and below average. However, the bar staff was excellent. It took almost an hour to receive our salads and appetizer, and getting the check also took a long time. I might consider giving this place another try in a few months once they have improved their operations.

On 09/02/2022, I visited Neighbors Bar, a newly opened establishment that seems to have inherited reviews meant for the now-closed Broadlands Pub. It appears that Neighbors Bar is still getting their bearings, as my experience on opening night was less than stellar. The cook and servers seemed untrained, as evidenced by the disappointing fried pickles we ordered - they lacked breading and were soggy green spears. Our server was inattentive and made errors with our check, requiring us to seek out the manager for payment. I recommend giving this place some time to improve before visiting.

I tried this restaurant for the first time under its new owner and name. Unfortunately, I would not be returning. I am not writing this review to criticize the establishment, but rather in the hopes that the owners will read it and make adjustments. I would love to see something finally succeed in this location. I ordered the Neighbors salad with chicken and truffle fries to go. Let's start with the salad...it was the smallest portioned salad I have ever had that was listed on the menu as an entrée size. It was tiny! If they want to sell it as a side salad, they should have it listed as such on the menu and charge $5, not $15. As for the fries, maybe they made a mistake with the order, but they were just regular fries with minimal seasoning. Once again, the portion size was very small for the $8 charge. I was disappointed and had hoped for a better experience.

Okay, so the service was slow BUT the restaurant was only open for a week. It takes time to get even the bumps out. The food is amazing on the good stuff. It brought me back to some very happy memories as a child. Empanadas are on point, the fried chicken sandwich is delicious, and the fried Yucca made my soul smile. Mixed drinks are solid. Ben, the owner, is brilliant that he was so nice all night, and was in front of the front over a long waiting period for our food, and I appreciate honesty with waiting times. Definitely our new dinner.

On Friday, a few parties had occurred when I arrived. The owner went out to find us a place and make sure we take care of it. Really like the open and light decoration, great improvement over the old place. TV is so great everywhere to see games. The food was great and the menu has unique options for Ashburn. I really enjoyed the Empanadas (have a beef and a chicken) and the Cuban sandwich. Portions were a good size and prices very reasonable. Many other articles I try. Let's also drink great, I had the blackberry old-fashioned, which I highly recommend and design beer was fresh with many good local options. The owners work hard to make this a great place. Give them a shot and understand that they are just opening things and still working and training new employees. I'll be back soon.
