Barley's Taproom Pizzeria - Asheville

I dropped by this restaurant after receiving a recommendation, following a 5-mile walk and 5 hours spent at the Biltmore. I arrived around 3 PM for a late lunch or early dinner. I ordered a 14-inch build-your-own pizza with three toppings, and it turned out perfectly. It had just the right amount of sauce and was loaded with cheese, cooked to perfection. The beer selection was impressive, and the bartender, who was very soft-spoken, provided excellent recommendations. We will definitely come back on our next visit to Asheville!

This is a fantastic, unpretentious spot located right across from the Aloft hotel and at the start of the Sound slope, where you can find all the breweries! Be sure to enjoy the incredible pizza here first before heading down the hill for a fun time at the fantastic breweries. We walked both during the day and at night and felt completely safe. The locals may try to scare you, but you'll be just fine. Erin was our bartender/server, and I can’t recommend her highly enough. I loved the great conversation and appreciated how she took the time to answer our questions as tourists.

The garlic knots are absolutely amazing! The service was excellent; when I couldn't decide on which cider to order, I was allowed to sample both. The medium cheese pizza was more than enough for two people. I think next time I'll just go for drinks and appetizers.

I dare say this pizza is better than any I've had in New York. It was flawlessly made, and the service was quick and friendly. They have an extensive beer selection, and the waitstaff is knowledgeable enough to offer great recommendations.
