The Cheese Store Of Asheville

I've visited this restaurant twice, and both times I was impressed by their excellent cheese selection. We enjoyed a cheese plate that included a variety of cheeses, olives, crackers, bread, and almonds. Paired with a nice glass of wine, it made for a perfect appetizer or light meal. The owner is very friendly, and we learned that the restaurant mainly profits from cheese sales. On our most recent visit, we tried the honey mustard Gouda and goat cheese fudge, both of which were delicious. The plates were reasonably priced at about $8 each.

The cheese plate featuring three types of cheese was absolutely delightful. It was so good that we returned for a second visit. You can enjoy a light meal of cheeses, meats, crackers, and bread, accompanied by wine and engaging conversation. If you're a cheese lover, you definitely should give it a try!

We stopped by The Cheese Shop while waiting for the restaurant next door to open. The Cheese Shop features several taps, with all but one or two showcasing selections from local breweries. We ordered a two-cheese plate, which actually included one meat and one cheese. It was served with fresh grapes, dried fruit, warm bread, crackers, and corn nuts. The aged cheddar paired beautifully with an Italian cured meat (the name escapes me) and complemented the Firewater IPA and an exceptional Kolsch from French Broad Brewery. The service was excellent and very informative, even though we visited during the quieter hours between lunch and dinner. This turned out to be the perfect light late lunch, and we never did make it to the restaurant next door.

Here on our honeymoon- want to keep it local so we ordered the yocal local cheese plate. Delicious assortment of cheeses plus generous assortments of accompaniments. I had a glass of wine while the new hubby ordered a pint of local beer. Nice wine and beer selection too. And the staff is very friendly and customer focused.
