I asked the waitress who said to ask the chef and he might be able to organise something. If you're not going to cater for vegetarians or pescatarians..then don't advertise your hostelry as Vegetarian Friendly!
Had our dinner here on Sunday 4th August, expected it to be run of the mill bar food. Splendidly supeise
We had carvery lunch here today. There was a nice variety of meat and vegetables catering for all tastes. The lamb roast beef were perfectly cooked as was the vegetables. The desserts (Eton Mess Profiteroles) were delicious. Very good value, comfortable space and lovely staff. Highly recommended
I stopped off in the Woodpecker on the way back from Dublin, it was around 3 in the afternoon when I arrived, some places would only have a limited menu at this time, but not here, there was an extensive menu to choose from, you could have anything from soup and and sandwich to a 3 course meal, I picked soup which was minestrone, served with brown bread, and a chicken fajita wrap which had side salad and fries, it was excellent, my only problem was I wasnt hungry enough to finish it all, you wont leave here hungry. I will have to give a special mention also to the gentleman serving, he was excellent and very attentive. I will definitely be paying a return visit and I have already recommend it to a few family members and friends.
The food choices are varied and very good. The service was prompt and friendly. Hours are limited though so be sure to go on a day when they are open.
