The young staff were friendly and attentive as well as being highly efficient in their jobs. The breakfast is at the top of the price range at £11.95, but it was cooked beautifully and the ingredients top notch. Great Coffee too! We had a great time and will certainly return. An excellent Bikers retreat!
This place was taken over is now called The Stag is the home of a car club so we decided to visit as 1 of our party is very interested in all sorts of cars although not a special event there were a few cars lots of memorabilia decorating the inside.we decided to have lunch the menu was only burgers some very fussy offerings with only 1 (cheeseburger that was suitable for us when it arrived it was a very small dried up (I suspect packet frozen lukewarm burger with supposedly triple cooked chips( again prepacked frozen? that were dry the kids burger came with homemade beans that were spicy as 1 of the owners is a professional chef according to the blurb but I'm not sure we're he trained as what we were served would not have even have got him a job at McDonalds!!!its just as well it's a car club as a pint at £6.03 they certainly can't rely on the the food drink to make any money unfortunately we won't be reccomending or returning unless there's a car meeting then only for a drink DEFINITELY NOT FOR FOOD!!!!!
Having had a poor experience on a couple of previous occasions, I was so hoping it would be better this time.....with a new bar manager in situ and what was seemingly better informed social media than before. 7pm on a Friday night and barely a scattering of people. Open mic night.....and a weed induced hippy-esque figure setting up in the corner. I asked if they had Aperol and the answer was no then yes....so I ordered an Aperol Spritz......which turned out to be, very disappointingly, just Aperol and Soda water.....oh dear. Oh and someone started vaping at the bar. Even the usually chipper bar staff was a less than enthusiastic. I so want this pub to succeed, but it's hours are very hit and miss....rumour has it it's up for sale so O wish all the luck in the world to the new owners and will probably return then.....probably not before.
Went to see the band which said 8.00pm but when they didn't come saw it said on their Facebook 9.00pm. Had cheese ploughman's which wasn't nice. No cucumber, apple or grapes. Some weird bread things that tasted awful. The place needs a good clean and redecorating. Also dog running around while your eating. Picture is food I left. We asked if there was peppers in it to be told no but when served there was.
Not good for the price very disappointed. It used to be very good my husband had fish and chips and that was good you do expect peas with that
