We popped in for a quick drink just before the place closed for the evening. Sadly very quiet, we were the only ones there, had a lovely chat with the landlord who is v friendly and has been at the pub (as a drinker, then as landlord) for decades! Would love to see it pick up more passing trade! Price per person: £1–10 Service: 5

We stopped for a drink after a walk and enjoyed the nice outdoor area, which is also dog-friendly. Although we didn't eat on this visit, we plan to after hearing good things from other reviews. The locals were friendly, which was a welcome change from some pubs that can be a bit cliquey. The prices were reasonable, ranging from £1-10 per person, and the service and atmosphere both scored a 5 out of 5.

The restaurant offers friendly service and good quality classic pub food. I would have given it 5 stars if the Doombar beer had been perfect, but it was slightly off in taste. I should have mentioned it at the time, as it may have been the end of the barrel.
