I'm just going there for one reason, her Madras Tiffin Thali and her noon equivalents... the combination of idlis, medu vadas, dosa, uttappam and dessert... No other restaurant has this nearby And food quality is truly authentic South Indian testified by many of my friends from the same community! But beware of waiting when there is a festival nearby in the Hindu Ashland temple, there will be great quantities in the restaurant too! Also other things I love, there are Vada Sambar (Medu Vada's immersed in pipping hot Sambar), mixed vegetables Pakora/Bhaji/Fritters and gulp it down by pipping hot Madras coffee served in traditional form!
The South Indian food here is excellent! However, I would appreciate a wider variety of chutneys. Adding more options would definitely earn a five-star rating from me.
The dosas were quite good, and the tea was decent. Overall, I didn't have a bad experience, but I didn't feel eager to return. I think part of that sentiment is due to the distance I have to travel to get there. If you live nearby, this restaurant could be a great spot to enjoy pure vegetarian Indian dishes. While their main focus is on a variety of dosas, they also offer other options. One unique feature is that they sell dosa and idli batter, which could be one of the restaurant's standout offerings.
I believe I had the best dosa in this area. The restaurant is family-friendly and has plenty of space. I've tried dosas at other Indian restaurants like Dharani, Biriyaniz, and Brötchen, but the dosa here is far superior. The butter masala dosa is a must-try, and the spicy chutney they serve is fantastic as well. I give it five stars!
