The Saltwater Grill has been a Galveston staple for some time. I was encouraged that the menu has been updated with new items, while preserving some of their best offerings - I swear the Shanghai Delight is laced with Prozac because I'm always happy when I eat it. This time I tried one of their new "naked" offerings, hoping the fish would be allowed to shine. I had the grilled redfish, which was done perfectly - the very thin edges were a little crisp and carmelized but the fish was still moist and flavorful. I did miss the bread - this was one of the few restaurants in town that started with something with substance, so I was quite disappointed when a little crock of crackers appeared instead of bread. The restaurant is very noisy - I was ok hearing my companions but certainly couldn't hear the server well.
We enjoyed a satisfying and tasty meal here in convivial surrounds. Staff were good. Value was excellent.
We were here on vacation and the food and service were just ok.
This was our second visit to Saltwater Grill. The food was delicious and the service unmatched. We will definitely dine here again on our next visit to Galveston.
