Great breakfast both a la carte and buffet. Amazing service and staff!
Every time we had dinner, they rearranged things in the yurt which made it noisy and uncomfortable. Additionally, there was a mandatory 24% service fee.
We were overall disappointed with our experience at this restaurant. It was our first time at Hotel St. Regis and we had high expectations for the food that were not met. The service was extremely slow, it took 25-30 minutes to receive our ordered cocktails. The appetizer (Calamari) arrived quickly and was just okay. We decided to cut our night short and left after just one drink and appetizer. We would not return or recommend this restaurant. However, the bar near the lobby has much better service and food, so we would recommend that instead.
Although we had the yurt all to ourselves, it can accommodate up to 8 people, making it a great option for groups as well. The fondue menu was delicious overall, though I wasn't a big fan of cooking the meat in oil instead of broth. The meal came with a decent amount of food and all the necessary ingredients for $130 per person. In addition to the fondue option, there is also an a la carte menu available, as well as a good selection of wines and drinks. Overall, our experience at the Velvet Buck was fantastic. Be sure to make a reservation in advance, as this popular spot fills up quickly.
