I ate here twice during my stay in France. I had with smoked salmon and saw linguine and it was so delicious, I would have had it again and again. my friends also enjoyed eating her. the owner is friendly and animated and. they can feel his passion for eating and crying. the breakfast was also delicious. highly recommended.
The bar du commerce is located in the main square of astaffort, just below the church. on the first look it is just a flat, run of the mill café, but a more accurate look will show that it is packed on a weekday dinner, a safe sign that it deserves closer inspection. there is a selection of two daily two cure menus for the prinzessin sum of €13, wein, mineral water, dessert and coffee extras. on the day of our visit, the appetizers were either a plate of different sausage meat or a refreshing Chinoa salad, which was liberally infused with lemon juice. the main thing was either a spear of chicken breast or sticky honey roasted heel. the chicken was moist and succulent, while the reserve ribs were generously fleshy, sufficient for hungry appetit. the dessert of the day was an salad of marinated oranges simply delicious and otherwise palate cleaning, especially after the reserve ribs. price: 4 € per serving. the last bill that included two coffees, a bottle of mineral water and a glass wine, came to a modest €36 or €18 per person for a meal that is more than all grade of hunger satisfied. the bar is made by two owners, one in the kitchen and the other front of the house, who run the hottest hours between the tables and keep his customers happy. service is polite and friendly, especially when the lunchtime has gone regularly. do not expect fine restaurants because this would be impossible, but expect them to feel happy when they take their vacation. the astaffort is about 20 minutes south of agen and offers simple parking and a relaxed environment.
It's a pity that we only discovered the last day of our 3 weeks vacation in the opposite bar du commerce. the atmosphere was enormous, all male staff friendly and helpful and the eating excellent. there was no menu card,...just a board with a selection of 3 to start, netze and gloom. the brighter, the good English speaking, brought the board on our table and explained the menu without being asked. while we waited for our meals, we could observe a member of the coworkers who made pizzas from ground to for the delivery of customers. and in the background we were able to prepare the cook our meal for the starters we had both tartare de jambon, which was fresh and tasty. for the main course I had a really tasty steak with frit and a salat and my wife. flesh strips in a very delicious jus, with green beans. the desert was a chocolate mousse for both of us. with coffee and drinks came the bill to 48€, which thinks an excellent worth. while we were there, numerous natives came in and there was a great bush to bar. there is a piano in the bar and seemingly when they can play one, they are welcome to go one!, this place deserves well. I can definitely get the bar du commerce.
This place is hard to beat for a cheap, imaginative lunch in lively surroundings. Much better than the usual duck or chewy steak and chips. We had frogs' legs and it was a glorious assault of garlic and parsley. Tastes a bit like chicken. Lunch...here is relaxing and energising at the same time. Nice staff.
