Must visit! Golden Man something special. Nice expositions, a lot of artefacts, very well done. Plan to spend all long day!
Great place for tourists to get to know the brief history and culture of the country.
A very nice museum that Kazakhstan people should be proud of. Well layed out. Thorough explanations, including in English. Clean, lots of staff around for safety. Three floors of artifacts and clothing on life sized mannequins. The top floor includes local artists paintings. Another floor is skeletal reproductions of mammoths, t Rex etc. There is a full sized yurt on the basement level exhibit along with historical instruments and notebooks full of local nomad music playlists. 1700 tenga to enter, they accept credit cards and foreign bank issued visa work. Watch out for groups of school kids arriving in droves through the exhibits...and then it's quiet again. Closed Mondays.
Impressive,, Modern, Excellent Exhibits This beautiful museum is impressive from the outside and even more so from the moment you enter the main hall with the seven-story-high ceiling with the gigantic gold eagle above. The museum’s displays and exhibits are beautifully done and mostly well described in three languages: Kazak, Russian, and English. It is very nice to have a guide but not essential. As of May 2023, audio guides have not yet been reintroduced due to COVID restrictions but I wouldn’t be surprised if those rules are relaxed in the near future. Set aside at least 2 hours to visit this huge museum. It is well laid out and the various halls have surprises that will delight the curious.
