We live in a hotel on Av. Santa Cruz near La Mar Street, where we were looking for a restaurant for several high-level places on TripAdvisor. We came to El Puerto del Monge and decided to try it as it was cheaper than the others. Daniel, who speaks excellent English, helped us to choose from the menu. We chose the cold appetizer who had an excellent octopus in olive sauce, and excellent ceviche and prawn causa. The next day we returned to try a hot appetizer sampler. This had fried fish and shellfish and for the only time in Peru it was not overtaken, but moist and tasty. The Parmesan scallops were made perfect. The crab filled Tequenios were okay. In short, we all had, but the Tequenios elsewhere and the versions served here the best we had. We recommend this restaurant very at reasonable prices.
