Stewart House River Grill - Athens

Food and service were stellar. Our table had a mix of things from the specials and the regular monthly menu and everyone was thrilled with their meals. We will be back very soon!

Great food and staff. The outdoor dining is amazing. Multiple mature trees shad the area and you get a great view of the river. Patio also has a walk down to a dock on the river as well. Also has a bar and typically has live music as well. Great summer spot.

We sat at the bar and enjoyed a delicious meal with great service. We ordered the fish and chips along with the dinner special, a ribeye steak.

This historic guesthouse has recently undergone a stunning restoration. Its location on the banks of the Hudson River is picturesque, especially during the late spring and autumn months when they operate an outdoor area called the River Grill. The tavern and dining area both exude a wonderful ambiance, and the staff are friendly. The food is delicious and beautifully prepared. While the prices are on the higher side for us as locals, we still find it worth it for a special occasion. We always leave happy after visiting.

We were seated at a nice private table, which was perfect for my 93-year-old father. The service was a bit inconsistent, but overall good. Our server was excellent. We would have liked a larger selection of wines, but we still had a pleasant evening.
