The Fatted Calf - Athlone

I had a truly wonderful experience! The atmosphere is very inviting, but the food is what really makes this place worth a visit. I especially enjoyed the carved John Stone dry-aged Chateaubriand! It's perfection, as recommended by the chefs. I had it cooked medium rare, and the flavor is unforgettable! The portion of steak meant for two is easily enough for four people—around 2 pounds of top-quality beef!

It's fantastic to visit a place that clearly cares about its offerings. From the quality of the ingredients to the thoughtfully crafted menus and friendly service, it was truly a delightful experience. The burger was massive, and the steak sandwich was cooked to perfection.

Beautiful meal and beautiful presentation. meat dishes very tasteful and this comes from a metz-daughter who knows meat. my man had steak and it was cooked to perfection. I wanted to try a nice dish. it was amazing. never thought I could be upset by veg. I would highly recommend a visit here without reservation.

Atmosphere, staff and food were all excellent. Fried oyster mushroom starter was so tasty I'm gonna try make it myself. It was crispy and juicy. I shared the chateaubriand, one of tye best steaks I've had and I'm very picky about my steaks! My IPA was room temperature though, but the food was so good I can't dock marks.
