I love divan. but why do they have a 2:30 brunch reservation just to tell us when we arrived that the kitchen closed at 2:30? it was all very confusing that we got food and hookah, but it was clear that they wanted us. when they close at 2:30 o'clock, they will take the last reservation at 1 o'clock. the waiter did his best, but he was even confused.
We visited a rare mother-daughter trip from chicago. I reserved a table in divan based on great reviews. we have a special evening for us to hang, chat and enjoy good food. our reservation was for 7 o'clock on a sat night. we checked around 19:06 clock after standing in a line on the Hostess desk, which is in a dark, cold area at the entrance. the hostess was rude and unfriendly, immediately, without a hallo, to inform us that our request for a quieter table could not be accommodated because it was a busy night. then she told us to wait until we can sit down. great parties that came after us were set before us. around 19:30 clock I asked to cancel the reservation so that I can book in another restaurant, the app will not allow them to reserve another restaurant while they already have a reservation and was informed that the hostess could not do that because the reservation system was “locked”. they repeated that we should come on weekdays instead of working on weekends and that we must wait because other guests do not respect the 2 hours per table limit. then at 19:40 they brought us up to the table, which was tiny and was squeezed in between others. it was super loud, and the dining room had a strong smell of fried food. we went down and asked if there was one more table. we were offered to sit down on a table near the bar, which seemed to be in order first, as it was quieter there and it did not smell, so we sat down. the table was opposite the entrance door, which constantly opened and closed, so there was a design as it was a cold night. they tried to accommodate us by repositioning a heating, and the bartender was very nice, but from where I sat, I stared at the back of the stairs, an ugly heating and two doses propane- hardly a famous and pleasant environment we were looking for. the menus were covered in plastic, there were no tablecloths on the tables in the bar area. we left.
The ambiente was so beautiful, the service was also amazing. my friend and I ordered the lachspastea, and we both thought it was a little tasteless. the ambiente and the service were too good, so we will come back to try something else.
So I planned a bday dinner at the restaurant and they exceeded my expectations. Service was phenomenal and o was the food. Keisha was the manager that made everything happen and Ivan was my server. I recommend going there and asking for those two.
