It might sound odd to order chicken fingers or wings at a barbecue joint, but Mike Ed’s chicken fingers are about three times the size of those at Guthrie’s (my second favorite), and their wings are massive! I’m convinced Willie is on steroids; they’re easily three to four times larger than what you’d typically find, packed with meat. I can eat about eight or nine wings and still feel full. This restaurant employs many students, so if you encounter someone who seems a bit inexperienced, they may just be in training or this might be their first job. That’s totally fine; if they do make a mistake with your order (which rarely happens because the kitchen staff really knows what they're doing), they’ll correct it at no charge. The staff can sometimes appear a little overwhelmed, but they are genuinely nice, hardworking people who care about their customers and strive to make them happy. I’m consistently impressed by how hard the young employees work and their politeness, especially when compared to other places where I’ve experienced less enthusiasm from younger staff. I eat here about once a week and absolutely love it. If you're visiting the city for a football game, be sure to stop by!
Great food! It was Auburn football match day with a 1 to 3 hours waiting everywhere. We went fine, sat down and ate. In and out within 45 minutes! Best food was fantastic! I highly recommend it!
They always have very good food and it always comes out very rapidly. For barbecue it's about the best in the south. The owners are local and are decent people. In other words they are not like Tom Haley. For we all know Tom Haley is a horrible landlord person especially in Auburn Alabama.
How this place has such high reviews is beyond me. Their food is cheap because it’s extremely low quality. The baked beans literally had artificial bacon bits in them. My friend found a hair in her sandwich. The cashiers are always incredibly rude and despite a sign on their door requiring masks no one inside was wearing one. Save yourself the significant disappointment and try another place.
Her hickory BBQ sauce is the best I've ever tasted, and their ribs are absolutely delicious! This was my first time experiencing chipped bark in my Brunswick stew. I would definitely go back if I had the chance to visit from Auburn.
