For a place that's off the beaten track it surprises me that it has a very steady stream of customers. We'll be back to try the Pokeno bacon breakfast. This joint is worth a drive to from Auckland if you have time.
Never judge a book...by it's cover...<br/ <br/ We came across this cafe when we were viewing a property for sale. <br/ <br/ I was quick to judge the establishment because of it's dated decor. And initally thought, that the food would be not-so-good.<br/ <br/ I should have known that when the place is swarming with people, that something is better than good, but great!<br/ <br/ The food: I LOVE, the green tea flat white are YUMMY and the service is the BEST I have seen in a long time. Never have I seen in an establishment such as yours a team, that is organised, that communicates well and is friendly quick with service.<br/ <br/ I am impressed that we came back for a second time...all the way from PAPAKURA.<br/ <br/ P.S: love the brownie and BLT and I'm coming back for more.....
This is our regular Cafe. Glenis and her team consistently deliver quality Country cousine, 7 days a week. The Country Cafe is one of the very select few, which which cater for Gluten free diners with meals and slices permanently on the menu. Topped off with amazing coffee and a choice of teas. This Cafe is what makes Pokeno the best place to stop off when travelling either north or south between Auckland and Hamilton.Highly recommended.
For a older style cafe, this place is a gem. We timed our visit very well fast friendly service, food arrived very quickly as we ordered off the menu board'. By the time we left the place was packed. Definitely head back again
Happy to have this place in Pokeno. Recently added more items to menue. Pastry and coffee is alright. Is calm and presentable space.
