The far wall is decorated with an elephant representing the Elephant god Erawan. Our waitress Busi gave us the necessary space to familiarised ourselves with the Thai menu and an extensive wine list which includes pairing recommendations. An number of wine by the glass options are available. The sight of a passing Ben Koppen draught lager was too tempting for me. Sashimi portions were good, the Dim Sum pastry too thick for our liking but their Crispy Duck is a winner. We opted to share as the portion is very generous at the price. We walked out having had a very pleasant evening, an elephant’s sufficiency, and will return to try a number of the other dishes. It's winter and the soup looked really good.
Ambience tick.... Food tick.....great service tick.... Just forgot to bring our prawn bao.... But we were so full anyways. The deep fried prawn sushi was to die for. I love beautiful settings n great crockery. This was a true Thai experience. Just beautiful tick.
Such an underrated restaurant!!! It's delicious, very well trained staff, and lovely setting.
Back again and the food as always is amazing. Despite this restaurant being in business, for what in JoBurg restuarant terms, is a long time, weekend evening reservations are the norm. The staff dealt with our small group efficiently and the beef noodle dish, top of the noodle list (I cannot remember the full name or spell it) was top class and the starter soup was a revelation in how tasty a veg soup can actually be.
Excellent dim sum. We had the crispy pork and cashew nut stir fry. Will definitely return much to taste.
