It is EXACTLY what you would suspect that an excellent restaurant in a very historic building as if... the food and service were not disappointed. We actually went early and sat in the cozy bar on the first floor. Although we ordered Bourbon, we saw the bartender, Carmen wrestling with her Sangria Concoction right. She and Katie (the manager) worked for about 30 minutes until it seemed right. We would decide that later in the evening when we returned to dinner. At first we thought about the food on the balcony overlooking the Ohio River, but it was just a little too cold for it, so we decided for the 2nd floor dining room with the same view. Macey helped us sit. She was a waitress at the place, but not assigned to us for the evening. We used to meet her at the Augusta distillery tour where she worked behind the tasting. We talked about their future plans and I have little doubt that it will run the city in a few years. Of course I had to order the Sangria. I thought both the cinnamon and the carnation taste exaggerated him a little, so I decided to let it rest and let the ice melt. After that, the taste was perfect. The best Sangria I ever had. For dinner, my wife had the Pokchop and raved over it. I had the Bourbon glazed salmon. Both were absolutely excellent. My wife's companion plant was Brussels sprouts, which she just won't eat. Pam, our waitress, spoke about it. My wife loved her. Of course it helped, it was covered with brown sugary bacon, but still, they were really good. To dessert, my wife and I shared the bee honey cake. They keep the recipe secret, but it was absolutely delicious. I expected it to be overly sweet (I don't like Pecan Pier) but it wasn't. It was perfect. Overall, it was an excellent meal that, even with drinks, did not break the bank.
Just the best. Food, staff and views! Loved meeting Katie and Carmen and enjoyed their drinks selection! Best **** Mary um, and if you love Bourbon drinks, you need to try the Smoky Old Fashioned. Amazing!!!
My husband booked us reservations last Saturday at 4:15. We've never been. We were told by our waitress that there were no specials as there was a new cook and a new menu was created. My husband opted for the Sirloin and I chose the ****. Both were absolutely prepared for perfection. My husband loved the candied carrots served with his meal, and I never had Brussels sprouts and they were from this world. We decided to try the honey cake for dessert, and it was very rich and very delish.... a piece was enough for a few bites for each of us and all you need. We heard a sitting situation about the way up, which seems to have been better handled with regard to reservations and non-reservations. Others then that our meal was amazing.
I would highly recommend coming to this wonderful restaurant. We drove about 45 minutes from the northern Kentucky to come to Mother's Day. The food was fantastic. We ordered the filled mushrooms and drinks to start our meal. I chose the espresso martini and it was one of the better espresso martinis I had. For the main course I ordered the bourbon glazed salmon and the brussel sprouts (not shown). The restaurant is built next to the Ohio River along with some houses in the 1700s. There is plenty of shade to go down the street and enjoy the beautiful weather and old architecture. The food, the atmosphere and the service were all the top notch. We will definitely see the ride back and more from the small town of Augusta and this amazing restaurant.
Met friends for Sunday brunch. The setting is beautiful, right on the Ohio River near the ferry. The menu is not large, yet is diverse and the food is of excellent quality. Decor is rustic industrial with a bit of contemporary. Great atmosphere, well stocked bar and friendly staff. My wife got to meet Nick Clooney which was an awesome experience!
